Itinerary

Pedal Safari is a unique cycling event in East Africa. This 1700-mile bike ride travels through regions rich with cultural diversity and geographical phenomena including magnificent landscapes, the Indian Ocean, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, flora and fauna. Due to the length of the event, Pedal Safari offers participants a choice of one to four legs over the course of three weeks. You can customize your participation based on whether you want to do all four legs or just a few.

    Visit Wildlife Reserves and Bus to Naivasha

    From Dar es Salaam, we will journey northwestward, snaking our way through the plains and rolling hills of Eastern Tanzania. Five days later, we will arrive in Moshi, a little laid back town near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Here we will take a break and engage in goodwill projects, then visit Ngorongoro and Serengeti Wildlife Reserves to see the migration of wildlife.
    From Northern Tanzania we will bus to Naivasha, Kenya. In Naivasha we will take a day’s break for a goodwill project and some recuperation. Lake Naivasha, where we will camp, has one of the biggest flamingo populations in the region. Hell's Gate Wildlife Reserve is a few miles away from the camp ground.CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
    2nd Leg – Pedal Safari 2008 Itinerary
    From Naivasha, we will head for Uganda, the "Pearl of Africa." We will cross over into Uganda four days later through Malaba, take a short break in Tororo, a nights break in Mbale, and recuperate in Budaka.

    After Budaka, we will embark on the final stretch of the safari towards Kampala; taking nightly breaks in Iganga, and Jinja, where the Nile River breaks away from Lake Victoria, on its journey to the Mediterranean Sea.
